Bereavement Notice

Pleasant Grove Church Family,

Please join me in prayer for Brother James Melson, Sister Yolanda Melson, and the entire Melson family. Monica Melson, daughter of Dr. Rev. Robert L. Meison, passed away unexpectedly early Monday morning, January 26. This is a sudden and deeply painful loss, and the family is grieving and requesting our prayers.

As Pastor, I have been in communication with James and Yolanda and, as best as one can in a moment like this, they are grieving appropriately and leaning into their faith and their family.

I know we're all thinking T, so I'll just say it. This moment is especially heavy Brother James (not only because Monica is his cousin) but also, Sis. Yolanda had recently been celebrating her kidney transplant. Both have been through a lot Nevertheless, this moment-reminds us how joy and sorrow can meet in the same season.

Scripture reminds us:

"We grieve, but not as those who have no hope.. for we believe that Jesus died and rose again." (1 Thess. 4:13-14)

Please continue to cover this family with prayer, love, and compassion. Funeral arrangements will be shared when available.
